"... Located about ten minutes away by tricycle from the Puerto Princesa airport, the place looks like an ordinary beer garden from the outside. Inside though, is a spacious bahay-kubo style pavilion. Made of bamboo and wood, the restaurant is flanked by lush gardens and mini-waterfalls, making the restaurant a very airy and breezy place even if it’s already high noon. The furniture and fixtures echo the bucolic, laid-back theme. Capiz lamps tower over tables made of wood trunks. Pots of hairy, bright red achuete fruits lend color to the otherwise all-brown interiors."

"In keeping with the Hawaiian/ethnic-inspired motif, Ka Lui serves only seafood, fresh vegetables and fruits. There are no meats or fancy cakes. For drinks, there are no carbonated sodas, just fresh fruit concoctions..."

"What’s really remarkable about Ka Lui is that you get five-star quality seafood dishes at a fraction of the cost, and in a picturesque setting at that. Ka Lui is only open during lunchtime from 11 am to 2 pm, and during dinnertime from 6 to 11 pm, and is closed on Sundays. But then again, it’s a small price to pay for such an affordable culinary delight. Truly, like Palawan’s underground river or its remote limestone cliffs, Ka Lui is worth the effort and the trip..."

Ka Lui Restaurant is located at 369 Rizal Avenue, Puerto Princesa City, Palawan.

International cuisine shelled by a traditional setup. A wide garden greets the entrance as you walk into a pathway of earth and green.

One is easily made to feel at home (or at least wish that they could call it home) by the warm smell churned out by its kitchen that includes a stone furnace used for baking. Their pizza is a formidable contender for the City’s best.

Seat yourself under wide trunk trees or discover the 2nd storey while you marvel at the lush furniture and exclusive artwork.

This restaurant offers the classic Filipino dining experience as it has a country-style ambience complete with bamboo cottages. Guests can sit inside the cottages for a more private setting and enjoy Palawan’s cool, fresh air. The restaurant specializes in grilled Filipino dishes, mostly pork, seafood and chicken.

"...On a regular day, you may visit the spacious gallery covered by cogon leaves treated and bundled heavily before laid out as roofing. Do not forget to try the restaurant dishes. They have pasta, sandwiches, salads and typical Pinoy set meals. Don’t go home not having tasted the Kamarikutan coffee, brewed kapeng barako that will kick your sleepy spirit back in awe of the surroundings. There are also many souvenir items to choose from."

I personally love Kamarikutan for its advocacy for nature and art. It very well exemplifies what Kamarikutan means in English? forested or full of trees. From the gate, you will be greeted by towering trees that are home to different birds and even squirrels. There are big koi fishes in the pond, the favorite object of pictures among visitors..." - Jodelen Ortiz

Kamarikutan hosts the Pagdiwata Festival during May. This event gathers well-known national artists in music, fine arts, television, or literature.

Kamarikutan is located Rizal Avenue Extention, Puerto Princesa City 5300 (just past the airport coming from the town proper).

There's not much to say about the place where one finds the best chicken inato in Puerto Princesa City. Home to Palawan's original grilled chicken recipe.
